2nd in the World Mambo /American Rhythm Champion

Alexandra Gregoire Prophete Biography

The legend of dance, Alexandra G. Prophete has been referred to as “The Great Dancer” a title reflecting her performance style and dancing selections. Alexandra was born in Haiti; she started dancing at a really young age doing Haitian Folklore, ballet, and modern dances. In 1991 she opened her own school and became a role model for many young Haitians.

In 2002 she decided to follow her dream, which was to compete internationally and moved to the United States to represent Haiti in the world competitions. She has been trained by the top coaches that the business had to offer like Taliat Tarsinov, Wendy Johnson, Ed Simmon, Rufus Dustin, Michael Chapman, and many more. In 2004, she won 4th place in the world Mambo Competition with Rodrigue Edouard.

Between 2005 and 2006 she participated in over 30 national competitions in American Rhythm Division with Emmanuel Pierre Antoine and won many of them such as the Empire State Ballroom Dance Challenge in New York, and the Holliday Classic in Las Vegas. In 2005 she also won 2nd position in the world Mambo championship with Emmanuel Pierre Antoine.

In 2006 she decided to move to Florida and be with her family.  Alexandra is the proud mother of two sons and the wife of a wonderful and well-known educator and counselor.

Even she stopped competing in Nationals Alexandra still follows her dreams. Today she is the proud owner of one of the best ballroom of South Florida (Rhythm-N-Motion). With Ricardo Sopin her dance and business partner, they are the best performers and teachers of this new Era.

Being a dancer is not easy, it takes a lot of time, effort, and dedication. To be where she is today Alexandra had to make many sacrifices and the dream would not have been possible without the help and support of many people like Harry Policard that introduced Ballroom dances in Haiti, Lunic Jn Baptiste her first dance teacher, and most importantly her parents especially her mother Anne Marilia who made all of her lucky winning outfits.
